The Magic Touch by Jacquie D'Alessandro
Reclusive Maxwell Wolford, Earl of Dorsey’s purchase of an unusual box inlaid with the image of a beautiful woman sets him on a path that threatens to destroy his hard-earned peace and solitude. Who is the woman on the box? And why does Lady Amanda Pratt, a visitor to Maxwell’s small village, look just like the inlaid image? Maxwell doesn’t know, but he is determined to find out what secrets both the box and the mysterious Lady Amanda are hiding. The Magic Touch, a Regency-era novella, was originally published in 2005 as part of an anthology entitled The Hope Chest, which included stories that spanned three centuries. The story, (originally titled Yesterday’s Magic), is set in Cardiff, England, in 1820. After being out of print for more than a decade, I’m delighted to be able to re-publish this story. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
Wishing you much good health, happiness, and of course, romance.
