She lied to her family and led them to believe she was engaged. A simple misunderstanding, but she had to produce someone or she would never be able to show her face to her relations again. Worst case scenario, buy off a handsome man and pay for his Christmas vacation. If only things worked out as planned.

Elias Murphy's girlfriend took off with their kid and he was finally getting to see his son.

What he didn't expect was for her to bring her new husband along to the meeting or that chaos would ensue. His holiday couldn't be anymore screwed up and now there was a beautiful but strange woman thrown into the mix. He didn't really have a choice but to go with the situation until he could figure a solution to his problem.
