Ashley’s best friend Reid has been the one constant in her life since her father left when she was in the fifth grade. She’ll never admit to wondering about kissing him a time or two over the years because mistakes like that ruin friendships.

Then one night, Reid crosses the line and changes everything between them. The spark he ignites reveals a possibility she never dared imagine, but fear of losing the friend she cherishes most keeps her from letting him pull her across the line with him.

EXCERPT:

“You really do look good tonight, Pez.”
She took the rose, then turned around to face him. The effects of the wine were suspect as she took a balancing step to the side.
The restaurant’s entrance light lit her up as she swayed her hips side to side, drawing his gaze down to where the hem of the dress skimmed against her bare thighs. His groin tightened at the sight of her creamy skin, and he quickly lifted his attention back up—only to be faced with her twirling the yellow rose petals against her tempting lips as she playfully batted her eyelashes again.
“You like my new dress?”
“Love it. You are smokin’ hot.” It was supposed to be a tease, but when her gaze met his, his pulse skipped with the realization he meant it in a way he’d never meant before.
“Why, thank you, Net.”
Even as he returned her smile, he wondered what the hell was happening to him tonight? It was like something had sparked when she’d asked if he was going kiss her goodnight, and everything she did since then fanned that spark into a full-on flame of desire.
Was it a full moon that had him thinking he’d like nothing better than to kiss his best friend…and more? With a hint of desperation, he turned his head up to scan the sky.
“Can you give me a ride home?” Ashley asked.
“You walked?”
“Yeah.”
Reid followed her gaze to where he’d parked his truck. “Neither of us should be driving.
