Fashionable London in the 1780’s is a hotbed of vice and scandal, and the notorious Duke of Aldringham removes himself to Bath until the gossip surrounding his latest affair dies down. There he encounters Melissa Langham, a spirited but penniless orphan who scorns his advances. Never one to resist a challenge, the Duke is determined to conquer the lady, and finds himself battling a protagonist every bit as strong-willed as himself.
