Many years ago, one of Emilie Benoit's grandmothers brought a rare blue diamond with her to Bayou Devau, and the gem was passed down for generations until Emilie's birth. Rumor has it that the stone was stolen from her parents, never to be found again, but Emilie learns the harsh truth about the gem's path after marrying an abusive gem thief and jewelry connoisseur. In a rash bid to escape him, she purposely gets caught during a diamond heist and ends up in prison feeling safer there than with her ex, but she didn't expect a man from her past to come through her prison cell door asking for help to put her ex away for good.

Ty Granger is an FBI agent who has his own reasons for seeking the blue diamond. He grew up in Bayou Devau hearing rumors about the jewel, but he never expected such a gem to turn up. When his wife is killed working undercover to find stolen jewelry, he is convinced Emilie's ex is behind the murder, and he won't quit until he's put the past to rest, and one of the world's most notorious gem thieves behind bars.
