He got what he wanted, and so much more. Bathsheba dominated the last half of David's life, first as the object of his lust and then as one of his wives. Indeed, she was not his only woman, but she was certainly the most intriguing, problematic and exciting woman he ever knew. Theirs was a life of romance, dysfunction, family intrigue and fulfillment.
