Matt has loved his handsome best friend Zack since they were kids, but, after many years of watching him chase and bed anybody but Matt, he has locked that love away into a small corner of his heart. When Zack invites Matt to go on a trip to Pacific Palms, a luxurious all-gay resort, Matt is constantly reminded that Zack is his friend. Zack is just not into him that way, but it doesn’t matter. Lots of other men are into Matt and his hairy muscular chest.

When Zack realizes how many men are into his old friend, he starts to see him in a new light. Matt is no longer the dorky kid who ate dirt. He’s the man Zack was always meant to be with. Zack tries to make a move. Matt rebuffs him. He doesn’t want to be another one of Zack’s conquests. He wants more.

Zack has to decide if he is ready for more with the man who he never thought of as a lover. Matt needs to trust that Zack’s feelings for him are real.

A Second Look is the second book in the Pacific Palms Resort series, but each book can stand alone. This gay male contemporary love story includes graphic sex and is intended for adults only.

Truthfully, Matt was quite pleased with how well the trip was going so far. So many guys to chat with. So many guys to hook up with. They were interested in him, and he was interested in them. Here he felt like he belonged.

After elevenses, Matt went with Jean-Marc, Flynn and Oscar to a wakeboarding class. Their instructor was an Indian guy named Rajinder. Raj, as he told resort guests to call him, had a really nice body with smooth biceps that strained the sleeves of his t-shirt. Matt could tell that Raj knew how attractive he was and was aware of the effect he had on the resort guests. He periodically flipped his jet black hair out of his eyes and helped people into their life jackets. No one needed his help, but no one refused it. Matt overheard one of the other guests, who was on his second or third visit to the resort, whispering that the number of people in the classes led by Raj had to be capped at eight because so many guys wanted in.

Wakeboarding with the wind rushing through his hair and the warm water spraying his body was quite the thrill, and Matt decided even before the class had ended that he’d try to do it again before the end of the week. He thought Zack might enjoy it, so he made a mental note to tell Zack about it. Maybe the two of them could take a class together with Raj as the instructor. Matt thought that would be cool. Oscar and Flynn were more adept wakeboarders than Matt and Jean-Marc, but Matt didn’t mind. He loved the exhilaration and freedom he felt as he bumped and twisted along the water on the wakeboard.

Oscar invited Matt, Jean-Marc and Flynn back to his beachside bungalow. On the way, they stopped at the beachside bar to order drinks to be delivered. As soon as they walked into Oscar’s bungalow, he got naked and draped his wet swimsuit over the railing of the balcony. Matt thought his tan lines were sexy and said so. His tan covered so much of his body, but the white of his crotch was stark and attractive.

“Well, thank you, sweet pea,” Oscar said. “I took off my thong as an example to you all, if you know what I mean, and I think you do.”
