Big John wants nothing more than to settle down with his sweetheart, Beatrice on his ranch in Woodspur, California. Things are not so easy, though. Beatrice owns the best saloon in town and is not about to give it up to become nothing but a housewife. As much as she loves John, she loves her life and job more. John is a patient man and is willing to give it time. That is until two infamous gunslingers start giving her a hard time and end up forcing her into bed against her wishes.
John hears about it and rides into town to call the two fast gunslingers out on the street. He has fire in his eyes. And he is determined to avenge Beatrice and restore her honor. You could almost hear the whole town gasp and shudder when Big John, a rancher and farmer, goes up against not one, but both of the gunslingers at the same time. The over-confident gunslingers seriously underestimate John and had not known that he was an expert gunman. He started learning how to wield a gun when he was a young lad after gunmen killed his parents.
After killing both gunslingers, who were renown and had a reputation that other gunslingers envied, the trouble has only begun for John. He has now become the target of every gunslinger wanting to make a name for himself. He ignores what his friends say, about how they will come from near and far to kill him now in order to steal his reputation.
John is not interested in any reputation that gunslingers hold dear. He is not interested in the code of the west that says he has to face anyone who comes looking for him and has to fight them in the street. He's not the least bit concerned about those words he hears. He just wants to get back to his ranch and to his horses, grapefruit, date trees and his corn. Until that is, something terrible happens to Beatrice and the whole cycle begins again. Gunslingers that have come to town are not only trying to get the uninterested Big John to fight them, but more trouble is brewing as well. A land monger is seeking to buy up land and shops to take over the town. He will stop at nothing to make sure Beatrice sells.
