Taken Captive by the Thug

Carmela Jackson has fought tooth and nail to reach that impossible dream of getting out of the gang life. She had avoided ever joining a gang or getting romantically involved with a member. Her baby brother Devlin was not so lucky, but it was his choice to make. She moved away to find her passion in teaching at a very prestigious university. When she comes back home for vacation, she is abducted by her brother’s rival gang. This was the main reason why she had left in the first place. The constant threat of reprisal from gangs was a well known fact of life. This was what she didn’t want for her brother, but she had no idea how she was going to convince him to walk away. She finds a past crush in Brody. Brody soon learns her fate, which leads them to fight for not only a chance at happiness, but for their lives as well.

Taken by a Thug

Taken by a Thug tells the story of Aubrey, a young and successful black woman who is pursuing her Master’s degree. For the practical leg of her graduate coursework, she begins to work in the field with kids from a disadvantaged neighborhood. It is then that she meets Antoine, a notorious black man from the neighborhood who has a reputation of being feared for many reasons. But when she ends up talking to him at length about Mikaela, one of the kids she’s trying to help, she surprisingly learns his intimidating demeanor is a major contrast to his intelligence, kindness and charisma. It is when he offers to help her get through to Mikaela that the two end up bonding and eventually falling in love.
