I have been raised to be an independent thinking woman, which is unusual in my social circle. My parents adore me and I love them deeply. When sadness hits my life, and I lose my fiancé in the war, I decide to dedicate my life to sharing all my education with children.

Taking on a post as governess for the Duke of Norwood’s grandchildren, I soon find myself falling in love a handsome, young man. Unfortunately, he is engaged to be married to the Duke’s oldest granddaughter, Lady Harriet. However, my mind closes that fact out of my silly head, and I allow him to charm me into his bed. I act as companion to his fiancé and agree to visit Bath with them. Soon, I am rejected and another replaces me. The man is a philanderer, and I quickly leave Bath to return to my post as governess.

There I take the children on a walk to the beach, and we meet a local man who helps us to fly our kite. Although, through my ghastly experience with Lord Guy, I vowed I would never love another, I soon find myself falling in love all over again. Harry is kind and charming and totally different to the man who broke my heart. I am glad to have that man out of my life, and a new one in it.

Lord Guy is found romping in the stables with a maid. Will the wedding be called off? Will Lady Harriet finally see her fiancé for the vagabond that he is?

**Author's Note: This is a stand-alone regency romance with an HEA.
