This little book contains about 13,700-words and 50 of my favorite poems plus three new verses I wrote for one of my favorite songs, On the Wings of a Dove.
Inside there are fifteen “Poems that Touch the Heart”; twelve “Poems of Love”; nine “Poems of Faith” and four “Humorous Poems.” In addition, there are eight “Poems for Children,” and there is also a short poem in the introduction. Several of the these poems have never been published before.
I have inserted photos or pictures for each poem, as I believe this adds even more enjoyment in reading them. In addition, I have made several of these poems into videos. I recite them with pictures being shown and music in the background. I have had hundreds of views so far and they have only been available for a short time. Some of the videos can be seen on YouTube, they are, however, more popular on GodTube. The videos are under my full name of Kenneth Edward Barnes. You may also be able to find them by the titles.
In writing this new book, I sat down and went over every poem, editing each one trying to make them even better than before.
With two of my best-loved poems, I have added a page about why they came to be written, which will make the poems have much more meaning when you read them. The first, is my most popular poem, called Condemned, and tens of thousands of copies have been published. The other is about “A Special Friend.”
I enjoy writing things that touch people’s hearts. If I am writing something that is supposed to touch the heart and I don’t cry, I throw it away. Likewise, if I write something humorous and don’t laugh, I also throw it away. These kinds of poems are what I like to write the most.
