After being shot at by her husband as she sped her car through the Smoky Mountain National Park in the middle of the night, Ashley was relieved to look in her rearview mirror and see that after an hour of chasing he must have given up and went home. She breathed a sigh of relief as his headlights were no longer there glaring at her.

What she also didn’t see was the sharp curve ahead of her.

With a sickening screech of tires and twisting metal, the car plummeted down the mountainside. Unable to move and badly injured, she knew she would die soon.

Jackson and his friends had left the Reservation for their annual fishing trip on the Tennessee side of the Park. When they heard the crash they ran to help. Because they were Cherokee and she was not, they were scared to take her to the local hospital in fear that some Hillbilly might get the wrong idea. As her eyes were closing, she softly whispered, “He’s going to kill me”, before she slipped into unconsciousness. Determined to help her somehow, they decided to take her back to their home in North Carolina.

Two worlds collide as danger, on both sides of the mountains, threaten to destroy them all.
