Unable to dress as she did when younger, she is forced to be au-natural, but that is when her husband left her, Did she change too much? Was he in love with only her outward appearance, or did he indeed love her at all... or ever?  However, he left her without a word.  Or did he disappear? Unable to make contact with him, and feeling that the police reports of his disappearance went nowhere,,. she is about to give up hope until she meets up with a shady, new town-resident who turns out to be a well known gangster. He pursues her. Or is he pursuing her?  The situation turns strange.  His relationship with her is odd, the attraction is unusual, and the results are astounding. Anonymous letters fearfully lead her to Ireland, where she finds more than she bargained for. The ending is happy, the ending is sad. The ending is truly Annabel's.
