(Previously title Promises)

“You’re going to be all right Angel . . . As long as you need me, I promise I’ll take care of you.”

After Angie Moreno, told Dr. Roel Trejo to care for the injured children first, he saw in her rare courage and made that promise. He was totally exhausted after operating on the boy for nearly twenty-four hours before he could take care of Angie. Then he slipped while working on her hand and blamed himself – sure he rendered Angie handicapped.

Sister Anne, Mother Superior of the hospital, heard Roel’s promise and is determined to make him keep it because she believes these two were meant for each other. He’s also someone they’d like to have on staff for the medical school. The trouble is, no one knows why Roel is so hell bent on leaving – until it’s probably too late.
