With his headquarters in flames, and the slum in a state of panic, Robbie must curb his idealism and confront the reality of an island convulsed in revolution, while at the same time support and comfort Julianna, who struggles to bring life into a world that knows only death.

Romance, love, passion, money, and hope drive this fast-paced adventure which takes twists and turns to the point where Robbie and Julianna have difficulty holding onto the life they’ve built—a life which disintegrates before their very eyes, but a life which thrusts them into a new beginning.

Cover of SLUM SONG (from page 69): "Robbie saw a child picking through the garbage in bare feet- a boy or girl, he wasn't sure. The child had short hair but was wearing a ragged red garment like a dress. He saw men in the background, also picking through the trash. They were looking for something to sell. Or something to eat."

SLUM SONG is Dan Carroll’s second novel. It is a stand-alone story and may be enjoyed on its own, or as a sequel to the award winning novel, SLUM. Following these two books, a third novel entitled SLUM FEVER is to be published by Vanity Press Books in late 2014.

Dan Carroll has also published a collection of stories entitled SLUM ROOTS: JULIANNA AND OTHER SHORT STORIES. The origin of his "Slum Novels" may be found in the first story of this collection.
