On a chilly Florida night, late in February, Rachel Cunningham’s world crashed around her, leaving her an orphan, homeless and jobless. With her self-esteem and self-worth in tatters, depression closing in on her, she found herself relying on a man from the office where she worked for a place to lay her head. John Reynolds was a Godsend, taking her in, giving her time and space to cope with the tragic events that had plagued her life. Until he demanded more from her, wanting to take the relationship he had envisioned to another level, a level she couldn’t manage to come to grips with even eight months after her life had changed so drastically.

Packing her bags, Rachel is determined to put her life back together, to find a way to breathe life back into her soul. A cruise to the Caribbean was the perfect solution. John had already booked the cabin and had paid for the trip. With a plan and hope for the future, Rachel heads for the docks.

Scott Wolcott, one of the founding members of the R & B group, Dapper Dan & the Avenue 5, has had enough of his life. He was on the verge of a breakdown, being pulled this way and that from all directions. The record label wanted him, as the oldest member and lead singer, to take control of aspects of the group that he just wasn’t ready to handle. The other members of the group wanted him to relax, take some time to remember where they came from. His family wanted him to settle down and raise a family. And the woman in his life was demanding, spoiled and if truth be told, a royal bitch.

Running away seemed the perfect way to shed some of the demanding responsibilities. A cruise to the islands seemed like the best way to relax and put his life back into perspective.
