* * * * *
McKay's out of control. After being possessed by the lightning wielding spirit of the dead Fae in Roots & Fangs, the Scottish-American is accidentally blowing holes in the Fae Castle when he gets angry--or aroused.

McKay and his Fae lover reach out to their past--McKay to Mahihkan, the Canadian Werewolf of McKay's Werewolf Ways, and to the Irish Pooka--the ultimate Shape-Shifter, from Roots & Fangs. All gather in Seattle where they discover the rogue Alpha Werewolf who was the villain in McKay's Werewolf Ways--is on a killing spree, with a hit list of all those who were involved in his being turned over to be executed by an Enforcer--the "police force" of the Supernatural Community. But this Werewolf has done something never known before in history--he's killed an Enforcer. Bodies are stacking up--but the primary targets are Mahihkan--and McKay.

Excerpt

They stopped talking as they walked far enough into the forest to not be seen from the parking lot. After a ew minutes they came into a clearing. "This looks good," Maeve said. "Hang on." Then she stripped off her clothing and took the form of a large raven. she flew up and circled, then returned and took on her human like form. Like most shifters she was comfortable with her nudity and made no effort to dress herself again. "'Tis a decent location." Then she turned to McKay. "Do something," she said, "Entertain me."

Thunder pealed as McKay glared at her. "I'm not here for your amusement." She looked up into the night sky.

"'Tis a start," she said.

"Why don't we begin with something small," Kerrie said. "If you were gifted by the Master of Storms and Lightning perhaps you can do other things like the weather witches I mentioned. Why don't you try to call forth a mist. Nice and gentle. A harmless mist that doesn't blow anything up."

"How do I do that?" McKay walked away from Maeve and faced the witch.

"We try to imagine the action we're attempting. Maybe that will work for you. Envision a mist surrounding you. Maket as real as possible." He nodded. Maeve moved next to Fiona, mildly curious. McKay closed his eyes and seemed to concentrate. His scowled and let out his breath. He balled his hands into fists. And absolutely nothing happened.

"Maybe he's just heavy-handed," said Maeve. "Maybe he doesn't do gentle." She looked at Niall and smiled in a wicked way.

"Not helping," Niall said.

"Maybe she's right," offered Mahihkan, "--you know you can somehow do gales and lightning. Going misty doesn't really strike me as fitting with Storms."

"Anger and arousal lets you call shit up." Maeve looked at McKay and then at Niall. "Oh, wait--of course--you must have stopped blowing up the castle because you started doing it out in the woods." She grinned. "That's it, isn't it?" She watched their reaction and laughed. "I'm right. Now, that would be worth watching--go ahead and get it on with Niall while we wait for the lightning to hit."

McKay's eyes flashed--literally. Niall's eyes grew wide because he had never seen McKay do anything like that before. Then a lightning bolt blew up a tree stump a few feet away from Maeve. The smell of ozone was so strong Mahihkan stepped back and rubbed his nose.
