Denver used bookstore owner April Johnstone leads a pretty boring life. Single since she and her boyfriend split the sheets two years ago, she does little more than go to work, and then sit in front of the TV at night before retiring to bed with a good book, preferably one that features a spanking or two.
But, once a month for the last six months, she indulges herself by visiting a BDSM club where a Dom she knows only as Tom gives her a spanking that makes her toes curl. She thinks her secret is safe, until she sees one of her patrons in the club. A few days later the woman comes in to trade off several boxes of books. Two days after that she's found dead in her home.

And when April goes to get her next spanking, Tom is gone, replaced by a man who wants her to call him Titan.

The spanking Titan gives April makes her feel as if she might explode, in a wonderfully erotic way. She thinks she's hit the jackpot, until Titan shows up in the shop and starts asking questions about Virginia, the murdered woman.

Is Titan a good guy, or a bad guy? April's not sure. All she knows is that, despite her misgivings she can't help but return to the club so he can take her over his knee.

When the cops keep showing up at her shop asking questions April can't answer, she can think of only one person to turn to: Titan.

The question is, will he help her solve the mystery she's become involved in, or will he get her into hot water?
