Rachel Griffin is a successful woman with a deadly secret. A secret that keeps her on the run from love, especially when a powerful man comes into her life in a sequence of events that is eerily familiar.

Derek May is alpha to the core. He's a werewolf pack leader who goes after what he wants. When he needs to gain access to Rachel's special talents to help him track a rogue werewolf, he'll use any tool in his toolbox to get what he wants.

Even seduction.

"I have a confession," I said conspiratorially to the group of professionals that crowded around me. They watched me expectantly. I leaned in. "I didn't think Facebook would last." I put a hand over my eyes like it was something to be ashamed of. And as an online marketing consultant, it kind of was.

Nicole and the two guys I'd just met laughed heartily. "No, seriously, y'all," I said, being completely sincere. "I used to like Xanga. Do you remember Xanga?" I asked. "I thought Xanga was the hottest social network."

"What the hell is Xanga, Rachel?" Nicole asked.

I pondered that only a second before responding. “The ancient ancestor of Tumblr."

We all laughed and Nic shook her head at me.

It was networking night in Downtown Katharine and Nicole and I were working the room at West Wine Bar.

"Make sure you call us, Rachel," Collin, one-half of the duo we'd been talking to, said.

I nodded and waved the card he'd just given me. "Will do," I assured.

Those guys were cool, but I was just about done with my networking for the evening. I wanted nothing more than to head to my downtown loft, get out of these clothes and curl up on the couch with my laptop and a glass of wine.

It had been a long day and I was tired of networking.

"I'm going to head out soon,” I said to Nic. She frowned. "Oh! Look, there's Alison!" I said waving to catch the attention of the petite woman with a massive mane of beautiful black curly hair.

We hugged fiercely when she walked up, taking turns saying how long it had been since we'd seen each other and how much we’d missed each other.

"Oh, I may have a client who needs your help, Rach!" She exclaimed suddenly.

"Rachel only takes three clients per month now, Al," Nicole commented with a look that said “Isn't she fancy?"

"You know what, Nic?" I narrowed my eyes with a playful expression that clearly said she could go to hell.

"That's it?!" Alison exclaimed.

"I'm cutting back to focus on other projects,” I admitted.

"How does one get into the queue to work with you," a deep rich voice said to my left.

We all turned at the same time to see a tall man with skin the color of dark chocolate standing next to me. He was savagely handsome with a chiseled face, intense dark eyes and very close-cut hair. He looked down at me with a curious expression. A chill iced up my spine.

Him. This was him.

I'd been warned about him.
