Boiling around the barn at a full gallop, came two full troops of Rangers, firing round after deadly round of hot forty-five lead, each shot hitting its mark – messily. By the time the Rangers brought their mounts to a halt it was over. The bandits that weren't lying on the ground, dead, were kneeling on it with theirhands in the air.
The couple came out of their cabin and the wife broke down and cried, thanking the Gods, all of them, for the Rangers.
