Wrath drives up and coming boxer Maria. She's taken crap from bullies and gangs her whole life and uses anger and violence as her way of coping with it.

When a hot new guy walks into her gym, Maria doesn't think much of him, but he thinks plenty of her. Before too long the duo are sparring and one sweaty activity turns into another as things get steamy in the showers.

Maria doesn't want to give into her traitorous body, but Damien gives her a new outlet for her fury that she just can't resist.

“You need a shower, you stink.”

A hearty laugh answered my suggestion.

“Is that so?”

“It is.”

“Well, you don’t exactly smell like peaches and cream, sweetheart.”

I felt a blush creep into my cheeks and it confused me. I didn’t get embarrassed, I wasn’t the kind of girl to care if I was dirty and smelly, and I certainly didn’t let strange men get away with calling me sweetheart. So why did I like it?

I shot a quick glance in Damien’s direction and couldn’t help imagining all that strength and deliberate power he’d displayed put to better uses. Since when did I fantasize? What was so different about this man?

He groaned as he stood up and winced as he stretched. My body instantly responded to seeing his in motion and I felt little bubbles of anticipation in my stomach as if I expected something to happen. Yeah right; even if I were interested, which I wasn’t, men didn’t look at me that way. I was too much of a tom-boy, too masculine, too intimidating. Though Damien hadn’t seemed intimidated…

“Maria?” Oh no, he’d said something to me and I had been completely lost in thought. I considered just agreeing to whatever he said, but then I realized how much trouble that could get me into.

“I’m sorry, what was that?”

“Are you heading to the showers?”
