Roxanne, a popular romance writer, is traveling to Scotland to research her latest book. At least, that's her cover story. In reality, a half-naked ghost in a kilt has been appearing to her, and she's desperate to find out how to help him move on. The trail she uncovered from an ancient diary leads her to Castle MacDunn, near Loch Dunn, which was renamed Loch Lenora after an ancestor who had drowned there. Today, Castle MacDunn is a welcoming bed-and-breakfast inn, complete with twin Scotsmen to keep her and her friend Clarissa entertained.

While on a picnic near the glen, Roxanne's ghost appears with a shadow of his beloved. Together, Roxanne and her escort Cullen watch as the highlander delivers an erotic spanking and then makes love to the one they assume had been Lenora in life. Entranced by what she has witnessed, Roxanne agrees to let Cullen spank her, as well... as research for her book!

But can she help the ghost find peace? Or will the medium Cullen's older brother hired turn the ghost's suffering into an advertising campaign to drum up customers for their business? And is there really such a thing as love at first sight? If so, then she's in trouble, for she loves the sight of her scotsman!
