A young rancher, Arthur Pressed never went to college and has no plans to do so. One day he sees a young woman pounding furiously at the window of a truck to get his attention. When he later finds out that she was kidnapped, he and another cowboy join a detective in a race against time to rescue her from the notorious Henders. Marlene Rose Picket, quiet college student who reads westerns and dreams of adventure, is kidnapped suddenly from a Cheyenne mall, and her need for adventure gets its fill. She tries to escape, but her attempts are to no avail. Then, late in the night, the two cowboys and the detective show up to rescue her. After a violent fight, Marlene is freed and her rescuers take her to safety and a doctor. After the rescue, Arthur and Marlene fall in love, but Marlene's family has other plans for her, including marrying a rich businessman. Tragedy, a secret, and a matchmaking brother influence the outcome.
