All recovering soldier Brandon Erikson wants is to be left alone. For the last nine months his mountain cabin has provided the privacy he so desperately needs. That is all ruined the night he rescues young Meagan McAllister from a winter's storm.

All Meagan McAllister wanted was a last trip to the mountains before winter set in. A few wrong turns and an argument with a ditch. Somehow she has become lost, cold, and slipping into eminent darkness when a beautiful beast saves her. The only question is. Now is she in danger of losing her heart. Maybe it would have been better if he had left her out there.

These two people spend several days holed up in a cabin together. Neither of them were looking for the other but each of them desperately needs what they have found.
