US Deputy Marshal Abbie Frost is on the trail of three elusive bank robbers that she suspects are professional rodeo cowboys. For months, the trio have gotten away with their heists, cutting a path across the western United States that leaves precious little clues.

Abbie and her fellow deputy marshal join the professional rodeo circuit as contract workers, hoping to discover the identity of the thieves. But within days, she runs into the man she walked away from eight years ago.

Chase Parker, charismatic world champion bronc rider, can't believe his eyes when he spots Abbie Frost riding pickup at a Texas rodeo. Though it has been a long time since their parting, he knows that she a US Deputy Marshal. Her presence on the circuit baffles him, but he is intrigued, as well, and wonders if there could be a second chance for them.

As attracted to the handsome-as-sin cowboy as she once was, Abbie wonders how she is going to remain focused on her investigation. Secretly, she has followed Chase's rise to the top of the rodeo world, and has never managed to forget him. As she struggles to keep her case from taking a second seat to her reunion with her former college boyfriend, she is reminded yet again that their life paths are still very different from one another's.

Once Chase discovers what Abbie and her partner are up to, he and his rodeo buddies work with the two deputies to figure out who is giving the PRCA a bad name. Traveling in tandem across the west drives Chase to vow that this time he will not let Abbie Frost walk away from him.

Though fate has taken them down different roads, Abbie and Chase's feelings for one another have remained unchanged. Once reunited, Chase must find a way to deal with Abbie's dangerous job, while she wonders if it is actually possible to fit into his nomad lifestyle.

A future may not be possible, though, once the identities of the bank robbers are uncovered and Abbie is put in the direct line of fire.
