Julia is tired of living in Alexi's childhood cottage, and he promises to take her for a week of fun in the sun. They play on the beaches of the Crimean Peninsula, while staying in a five-star luxury resort and spa. The spa vacation pampering is just what Julia needed, but Alexi surprises her by sending a concierge with a unlimited credit card and a car to go shopping at the designer boutiques in an upscale part of town.

Julia's shopping spree gets her a whole new wardrobe and a taste for shopping and luxury she never knew she had. The undercover rebel girl, only ever submitted to her mother's primping and prodding when completely necessary.

She walks away from her shopping trip ready to look the part of a sophisticated Ukrainian woman-- a style which is a far cry from her Seattle college girl, nondescript hipster look.

The next day, Julia and Alexi tour the majestic castles and fortresses that dot the Crimean shore. West coast girl, Julia is stunned by the sight of the ancient monuments and feels silly and giddy under Alexi's otherworldly gaze.

He tells her he is taking her to his friend Victor's house for supper. Little does she know, his friend lives in a Gothic mansion! The group assembled are chic, sexy socialites with a dark surprise for Julia. After dinner, the party really gets started when Julia finds out what Alexi really is.

The party engages in pleasures Julia never dreamed possible and she awakens several days later to find a new power flowing through her veins. That's when she finds out Victor has grown a bit of a crush on her-- along with a few other people from the party. He and Alexi show her how to use her new powers, but in the end, it is Alexi who has her heart.
