The year is 1811. Lady Cecily Seymour, travelling with her maid to stay with some relatives in Bath, comes across an intriguing young gentleman who is snowbound in an isolated wayside inn. It is the start of a heady romance through which both Cecily and Mr Forster discover some surprising secrets – secrets about other people, and secrets about themselves.
Note that although this novel forms the first of the three ‘Lord Barnham’ books, it can equally be enjoyed as an independent, stand-alone Regency romance.
