Christmas in Hell by Virginia Jewel
"It's the most wonderful time of the year!"
Like hell it is!
Kate hates Christmas, or at least she has ever since the year her parents made their announcement. After thirty years of marriage, and raising two children together, they decided to go their separate ways. Just like that Kate's happy family was nothing but a distant memory.
Two years later everyone seemed to have effortlessly moved on. So, at the age of twenty seven, Kate packed up her own life and moved from sunny Florida to London. It seemed like a good idea when she did it, but now she finds herself alone in London at Christmas. When a coworker, Claire, invites her to her parents’ house for the holidays Kate agrees. But the further away from the city they get, the more Kate realizes she may have made a mistake. How much does she actually know about Claire?
Tom, Claire's older brother, unexpectedly shows up for Christmas with the family and Kate finds herself thrown into humiliating moment after humiliating moment with him. Despite embarrassing herself in front of him over and over again, Kate finds herself falling in love with Tom. But does Tom feel the same way?
Throw in a few strange relatives, plus some even stranger English and family traditions, and you've got a recipe for a disastrous Christmas. From the hideously over decorated house, to the traditional Christmas Pantomime, Kate discovers that Christmas is about being with the people you love, even if you sometimes can't stand them.
