Never Lie to an Angel by Kate Welsh
Angel DeMarco breaks from her wealthy family when she decides to run a mission house for the homeless and recovering drug addicts. Police officer Greg Peterson enters the house undercover to find the people behind a drug-dealing operation based in Angel's mission. Although Greg does find the people responsible, Angel is angry about his deception. It is when Greg is nearly killed that Angel realizes that she loves him and must forgive him. She is then able to find the strength in her faith to forgive her parents as well and to look to the future.
