When he absolutely must wed, he assumes, it should not be too hard to find a suitable young woman. Looking after his family - and acting as a surrogate father to his orphaned siblings - must always come first....

Demure Abby Fairchilde has just about the same attitude toward marriage: Why get herself in a tizzy over it when everyone else is worrying her her?
