Bound by tragedy and obligation, haunted by guilt and ghosts of the past, a young rakehell, Julian Maine, Duke of Raulston—and a girl, more child than woman, Lady Bryana Ostburg, have gone through the years tormented by inner demons.

Raulston is outwardly cold and intimidating, Bryana, defiant, and though successful in society, completely broken inside.

Every winter fuels her resentment toward Julian—for robbing her of all she loved, and every bitter snowfall haunts Julian with the guilt he carries behind his public facade.
