The Day We Met by Barbara Bretton
Maggy O'Brien's ex-husband is getting remarried. Her daughter has dyed her hair purple. And for her thirty-fifth birthday, her sisters have arranged a weekend getaway--complete with makeover and limo. It's all Maggy can do to hold on to the pieces of her life right now. And traveling all the way to Atlantic City, she thinks, will only make things worse.

Conor Riley is in Atlantic City that same day--and his only plans are to roll some dice and keep his mind off the past. He can't help noticing the beautiful woman across the room, sitting alone. He can't help but ask her to dance. And he can't help but ask her to come with him to a romantic escape by the shore--and to think about what their future together could hold.

One voice tells Maggy to stick with what she knows: car pools and groceries and going it alone. And then there is the other voice--the one that tells her to take a chance, and say yes...
