Innocence by Elise de Sallier
Ignorance is supposed to be bliss, but in Anneliese Barlow's experience, it leads to unwise choices and unnecessarily tragic outcomes . . . and there is nothing blissful about either.

Forced to flee her father's brutal heir, Anneliese masquerades as Lisa Brown, a servant, in the grand country mansion of the Duke of Worthington. Discovering the life of gentility she had known was a virtual fairytale, reality a dark and forbidding place, she faces danger at every turn.

Captivated by the beautiful maid, Nathaniel, the Marquis of Marsden and the duke's heir, decides the only way to keep Lisa safe is by offering her his protection. With all hopes of returning to her previous station lost, she surrenders her virtue to the man she has come to love. Finding unexpected passion in Nathaniel's arms, her senses are awakened to a world of sensuality she'd not known existed . . . a world not without grave risks.

If her identity is uncovered, Lisa's innocence won't be the only thing that's lost.

While capturing the romance of the Regency era and guaranteeing a happy ending, Innocence explores some of the harsher realities of life for women during the 1800s. Starting life as a fan fiction story called A Forbidden Love, it received over 1.2 million hits, 12 000 reviews, and the interest of The Writer's Coffee Shop, the original publishers of Fifty Shades of Grey. Wanting to keep as much of the story as possible, TWCS decided to publish the epic tale in two books, with Innocence published in Dec 2013 and its sequel, Protection, (greatly expanded and with additional characters...one benefit of the story being told over two books) due out on May 1st, 2014.

Innocence has recently been updated, with deleted scenes reinserted that address the heroine's degree of ignorance regarding sex, a common problem of the time but one that has raised questions for some readers.

Passion and Propriety, the first book in Elise de Sallier's Hearts of Honour series, will be published by TWCS this August, with the second book in the series, Duty and Desire, coming in 2015. Each book in the Hearts of Honour series will be a stand alone read, featuring a different member of the Hartley community finding their very own happily ever after.
